Starting just three years ago with three partners, Sweden’s Quickspin online gambling games developer has enjoyed fast growth and now has 35 employees and an annual turnover of SEK 30 million.
The company and its CEO, Daniel Lindberg, was featured in this month’s European Gaming and Betting Association newsletter, which applauded Quickspin’s combination of creativity and technical expertise.
Lindberg said that the company, founded by three industry professionals who are also enthusiastic online gamblers, is set to grow a further 40 percent in 2015 as it widens its list of clients, many of them major European operators.
He revealed that Quickspin employs software engineers who are deployed over different teams and have different levels of experience. The graphical artist team is five strong with experience in other industries as well as online gambling, and the product department organises the “niche” skill-sets needed to start the conceptual creation of games. The company employs two mathematicians who use their creativity to make the games absorbing and exciting by “playing with probabilities.”
Lindberg says that while universities deliver great minds, they tend to leave out the creative element from the curricula and sometimes fail to pick up the newest markup languages such as HTML 5.
“Despite that fact we hire young graduates and train them into specialist with advanced skills,” he reveals.
