Tabcorp expands IPTV deal

Tabcorp will expand its streaming media and integrated betting applications on a global basis following significant deals with Akamai and Kit Digital which will enable the company to deliver live races over the web and to mobile tablet devices as well as providing integration with Sky Racing’s live betting system.

Brendan Parnell, chief operating officer of Tabcorp detailed enhancements which include additional racing footage archive for video on demand, amplifying its data base with historic racing data, higher quality multiscreen experiences for both international and domestic audiences and monetised archive footage as benefits from the two deals.

Tabcorp also intends launching an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) betting application in conjunction with Samsung-connected television sets towards June 2012, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
