The French newspaper La Tribune reports that French TV broadcaster TF1 has entered into exclusive talks with Alexandre Dreyfus, the founder of the Chilipoker online poker site regarding the possible sale of TF1’s EurosportBet gambling website.
The newspaper cites unnamed sources and neither TF1 nor Dreyfus will comment. The talks are said to concern another company owned by Dreyfus and do not involve Chiliplay, the Malta-based parent company of Chilipoker.
It remains to be seen whether a buyer would be able to continue using the trademark EurosportBet, derived from the Eurosport channel. According to the unnamed source who is privy to information on the talks, TF1 could propose a kind of perpetual license on the trademark.
