The Thai police in Pattaya raided three rented homes in pursuit of illegal online gambling operations Tuesday and for the umpteenth time found that the operators were South Koreans – a clear trend in Malaysia and Thai internet gambling busts this year.
Eleven South Koreans, one of them a woman, were rounded up in the raids, police spokesman Maj Gen Nitipong Niamnoi revealed, claiming that the eleven suspects belonged to the same gang using Thai-based servers that have been receiving bets worth over Bt10 million from their fellow South Koreans during the past month.
Police seized 20 computers and documentary evidence from the three houses.
