The Kansas City Star newspaper reports that Michael J. Lombardo (57), one of four men indicted by a grand jury for involvement in online gambling has entered a guilty plea.
Lombardo is the third of the four indicted to plead guilty. Six others charged separately have also pleaded guilty for their roles in an internet sports betting operation that generated $3.5 million in wagers over a three-year period.
Federal prosecutors said that Lombardo was responsible for around $490 000 in wagers. He will be required to forfeit $4 000 to the government as part of Wednesday’s plea in the U.S. District Court in Kansas City. Sentencing will be scheduled later.
