The giant Greek betting firm OPAP has shortlisted software firms GTech, Playtech and Intralot to provide services as part of its plan to expand into online betting, its chief executive revealed Thursday.
CEO Yannis Spanoudakis told reporters: “On Internet (betting), we are in the final phase to pick a vendor among three candidates. The aim is to pick the vendor by the third quarter of this year.”
The Greek government has a 34 percent interest in OPAP, which is keen to expand into the internet gambling sector as the government moves toward legalisation and licensing.
