Malaysian authorities successfully dismantled three “major illegal gambling syndicates” in simultaneous raids across 14 premises during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Malaysian police’s federal special task force for anti-vice, gaming and gangsterism (STAGG) arrested 20 agents during the operation codenamed ‘Ops Dadu Kierang’, seized RM11,385 in cash, 32 cell phones, two mobile printers, 14 calculators and a number of betting slips.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Khairi Ahrasa said its investigation revealed the syndicates were capable of processing bets up to RM15,000 daily and RM180,000 monthly.
