Less than a year after it was granted a sports betting licence, Titan has asked the French regulator ARJEL to cancel the approval, citing tough taxes and weak market economics.
Titanbet had planned to use the licence through Paris-based The Nation Traffic SAS, which holds the licenses, and with which it has partnered in previous ventures.
In related news, ARJEL has announced its approval of the mobile betting softwares used by Betclic and Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU).
Betclic’s licence will permit the offering of sports betting, whilst the PMU is authorised to accept both sports bets and wagers on horse-racing.
