The respected journalist Howard Stutz has resigned from top Nevada newspaper Las Vegas Review-Journal and accepted a position as strategic development officer with law and lobbying firm Greenberg Traurig, according to a tweet from the writer on Friday.
Our readers may recall that late last year the LVRJ was the subject of a high-priced and rather stealthy acquisition by individuals acting on behalf of members of land casino mogul Sheldon Adelson’s family.
Since the acquisition the newspaper’s editor, Mike Hengel, has departed (in December) to be replaced earlier this month by J. Keith Moyer, who has been an editor at The Fresno Bee and The Arkansas Gazette and a member of the journalism faculty of the University of Minnesota.
