Top movie stars in Aussie casino promo

Australian gambling mogul James Packer’s international casino company, Melco-Crown Entertainment is betting big bucks on a new short film and video feature designed to promote its activities around the world, engaging the services of renowned Hollywood director Martin Scorsese and the sheer star power of actors Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

According to the showbiz publication Deadline, RatPac Entertainment is producing the film, working on a script by Terrence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street).

The film will premiere next year at a new movie-themed resort in Studio City, Macau.

Over the weekend the project started filming in New York, with Pitt and De Niro reportedly arriving on set in sharp suits.

This the first time that DiCaprio and De Niro have worked together under Scorsese’s directorship, although each has starred repeatedly in films by the Academy Award-winning veteran director. A press release from the producers notes:

“This is an unprecedented collaboration because it’s the first time Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio ever worked with Martin Scorsese together in the same film. Leonardo has done five films with Mr. Scorsese and Robert De Niro has done eight with Mr. Scorsese… but never together.”
