After a number of slow-pay player complaints and at least one short hiatus in operations to change to a .net domain, the Curacao-licensed online sports betting site GoBetGo has finally folded, it appears from a website advisory this week.
Sommerville Management Co. Ltd, the British Virgin Islands registered owners of the site advised visitors:
“Dear players,
“Our strategy to offer the best odds on the planet with very low margins did not prove to be a successful one, given the clientele we attracted and the payment processing and marketing costs we incurred. During the period of November/December there was a large withdrawal wave, which entirely emptied our company balances and as we stand, we are insolvent.
“Therefore, we deeply regret to inform you, that as of today we are effectively closing GoBetGo.com.
Sincerely yours, GoBetGo Management.”
The advisory contains little in the way of a commitment to meet player obligations, and the sports betting information portal Sportsbook Review has recorded some $130,000 of outstanding complaints against GoBetGo…there could well be more.
GoBetGo was established in 2013 by Sommerville Management, which appears to have three locations – a Tortola, BVI registration address; a Costa Rica restaurant address in San Rafael, and a British support address or at least telephone contact number at +44 20-3239-1838.
The failed sportsbook is one of 5 online gaming sites owned by Sommerville Management; the others are Ball2Win Live Dealer Casino, Bit455.com, OdinBet, and Ball2Win Sports.
