Tough November for Nevada land casinos

Official statistics from the Nevada Gaming Control Board released Thursday show that land casinos in the Silver State experienced a tough November, with total gambling revenue falling 11.1 percent to $782.6 million in the month.

On the Las Vegas Strip, which accounts for more than half the total, revenue fell almost 13 percent to $431.9 million. Strip table win was off 16 percent while the take from slot machines dropped 10.3 percent.

Clark County casinos also struggled, winning $671 million from gamblers in November, a drop of nearly 13 percent from $771 million the year before.

For the fiscal year that started July 1, 2012, Nevada casinos have won $4.5 billion. That represents a slight increase of 1.5 percent from 2011.
