The highly experienced European online gambling group Gamesys is the partner of choice for US land gambling firm Tropicana Casino and Resort’s advance into the emerging New Jersey online gambling market.
Confirming the partnership Wednesday, Tropicana said in a statement that its new partner has significant online experience through its Jackpotjoy.com operation, and offers internet gambling in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Sweden.
Tony Rodio, Tropicana’s president and CEO, predicts the Gamesys partnership will allow his company to generate new revenue and expand its customer base.
“Gamesys has a proven track record in the United Kingdom of providing excellent products and customer service, and we look forward to launching Tropicana’s Internet gaming business with them,” he said.
Gamesys CEO Noel Hayden said that his company was looking forward to leveraging the best qualities and capabilities in Gamesys to the benefit of the partnership.
“We have always sought ambitious partners and Tropicana Atlantic City is a great partner for Gamesys as Internet gaming comes to New Jersey,” he said.
The partnership is the latest in a series of big-name online and land gambling companies that are combining to seek licensing in the emerging New Jersey online gambling market, which will be primarily based on existing Atlantic City land casino properties, with implementation scheduled for late November this year.
Among the companies that have declared partnerships are Caesars Interactive Entertainment and 888 Holdings; MGM-Boyd with Bwin.Party; Resorts with Pokerstars; Golden Nugget and Bally with a proprietary software; Trump Taj Mahal with Fertitta Interactive’s Ultimate Gaming; and Trump Plaza with Betfair .
