Twelve people across two continents have reportedly been arrested in the case of missing American sports betting executive, William Sean Creighton Kopko (43) or “5Dimes Tony”, Costa Rica media outlets reported over the weekend.
In a joint operation Costa Rican and Spanish Authorities made the arrests of nine in Costa Rica and three in Spain after following the trail of a Bitcoin ransom payment made by Kopko’s wife equivalent to $950,800.
Three people who entered Spain from Cuba, thought to be the ring-leaders of the kidnapping, were arrested in the Spanish city of Zaragoza last Friday.
Kopko’s whereabouts are still unknown following his alleged kidnapping whilst on his way to work on September 24 2018 in Costa Rica.
