Mount Airy and the still-developing Stadium Casino in Philadelphia joined Parx Casino Friday in applying to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for online gambling licensing prior to the July 15 deadline.
Stadium Casino is in the early stages of development as a joint venture by Cordish and Greenwood (which owns Parx Casino), which could create difficulties for its application. The casino is being constructed close to professional sports facilities in Philadelphia.
Local media reports indicate that Mount Airy’s application is for all three categories – peer-to-peer, slots and table games – at the discounted fee of $10 million. The operator has long-standing agreements with online companies Pokerstars and 888.
