Three specialists have joined the UK Gambling Commission with a view to developing in-house expertise and strengthening relations with other regulators and law enforcement agencies.
Detective Constable Mark Stanford joins the Commission on a two year secondment from the Metropolitan Police. He will work closely with the Sports Betting Intelligence Unit and the Commission’s enforcement team working across a range of criminal investigations.
Shared regulation specialist Charlotte Meller has joined on a fixed term contract to support the establishment of the Local Authority Liaison Unit. She was previously a Policy Team Leader at LG Regulation, where she led on gambling matters.
Former William Hill and Tote executive, Andrew Chapple, will provide the Commission with specialist support on a range of projects including the Commission’s money laundering compliance regime.
Director of Regulation Nick Tofiluk said: “We are delighted that Mark, Charlotte and Andrew have joined us. Their arrival demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthen relationships with other regulators and agencies while at the same time developing the specialist knowledge within the Commission”.
