The UK-based Ripon racecourse will not longer utilise Betfred-owned Totepool services for its fixed-odds betting service.
Ripon, in partnership with technology provider Data Tote, has followed Chester and Bangor racecourses in forming alternative betting partnerships.
James Hutchinson, managing director of Ripon said they were impressed with the Chester operation launched last year and taking ownership of its own betting operation fits well with their business model while retaining their independence in the supply chain.
“We now have a greater control of the service and staffing and the commercial model is also very compelling. We thank the Tote for its years of service at Ripon, but RiponBET means that all the proceeds from race day betting are still retained by the course for reinvestment in to facilities and prize-money”.
