UK tote competitor appoints Roddis

The yet-to-be-named UK racecourse-owned pool betting operation, set for launch in July 2018, has appointed Nigel Roddis as managing director.

The collective, which will launch its own pool betting operation as BetFred’s exclusive seven-year license comes to an end next year, have already received commitments from 54 racetracks including those under Arena Racing Company and the Jockey Club racetracks.

“This is a once-in-a-generation chance for racing to re-establish its partnership with pool betting and develop a customer-friendly brand and the necessary technology infrastructure to offer a first-class experience for all customers and partners from July 2018,” Roddis said.
