The Caribbean Premier League has confirmed that online gambling group Unibet has approved the extension of its cricket sponsorship agreement and will remain the League’s official betting partner for the next two years.
The deal will also see Unibet continue as an official sponsor to the Zouks franchise, which includes international stars such as Shane Watson, Michael Hussey, David Miller, as well as West Indies duo Johnson Charles and ICC World T20 winning captain, Darren Sammy.
Unibet will continue to offer a range of betting markets on the CPL for the 2016 and 2017 editions, including in-play ball-by-ball betting via its ‘Action Betting’ markets, along with prop bets on coin tosses; the number of sixes in the CPL; the length of the longest six and even head to head bets on who will score more runs between big hitters.
Unibet has a strong presence in cricket that includes the sponsorship of Essex County Cricket Club for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Unibet UK marketing manager, Chris Watson, said: “As ‘The Biggest Party in Sport’, the CPL perfectly matches our brand values. As official betting partner we look forward to providing CPL fans with a variety of bet types while allowing people to bet live in-play, with ball-by-ball betting.”
Last year’s tournament attracted a global audience in excess of 90 million and this year is set to be even higher, Watson said.
