The European online gambling group Unibet is the first to go live with a new second-screen, live sports betting product from developer Commologic.
In a press statement Monday Commologic claimed that its BetUp product is an effective acquisition tool for softer sports fans, designed to engage players by creating an in-game experience which educates users about live betting.
The product pools players together to offer big jackpots to the customers who can most successfully predict a series of in-play propositions over the course of a live sports event, such as which team will win the next corner.
BetUP is now live across Unibet’s desktop, mobile and tablet channels in six markets, including the UK and Sweden, as part of the Unibet sportsbook and as a standalone native application.
It has already drawn a following with more than 7,000 users registering to play the games during last Tuesday’s Champions League second leg matches.
Tamir Berler, CEO and founder of Commologic, said: “We understand that every sports betting operator wants to improve engagement and reach new demographics, so we are pleased to have gone live with BetUP.
Erik Bäcklund, head of sportsbook at Unibet, added: “So far we are seeing a big interest across markets and have received very positive feedback around engagement and second screen experience.
“We evaluate new opportunities and products on a regular basis, with BetUp really standing out from the beginning.”
