Online gambling operator Unibet has announced that it is to renovate its subsidiary online brand Maria later this (February) month in a project that will include a new website and brand refurbishment to make the operation more appealing to both men and women.
Unibet invested GBP 54 million in acquiring Maria Holdings in 2007 (see previous reports) and intends to rebrand the operation as Maria Casino, realigning its activity to online casino gaming from its traditional online bingo emphasis in response to player demand.
Maria Casino will offer its product across all delivery channels , says Dersim Sylwan, head of marketing at Maria. However bingo will continue to constitute an important element in the revamped site’s attractions; Maria upgraded its bingo client last year and the investment has produced positive results, he revealed.
Sylwan says that the extensive renovation will be supported by a powerful multi-channel advertising campaign that includes television, radio, print, and mobile exposure, along with a social media campaign to keep new and existing players abreast of developments.
