San Francisco-based Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with International Games Technology.
IGT will showcase games created in Unity at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas this week, a spokesman said.
Unity is used by slot manufacturers and online gambling companies around the world to create compelling interactive gambling content, and the company counts 1.2 million registered developers and thousands of game studios across the world in its community.
The company’s products are used by gambling companies (land-based, online and mobile) looking to work with development houses already familiar with the powerful development tools.
“We are excited by the opportunities offered by combining IGT’s world-class platform and game development, with the power and productivity of the Unity engine,” said Chris Satchel, CTO, IGT. “This is an important step in helping us produce our next generation of industry leading games.”
The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in Canada, China, Denmark, Lithuania, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Japan and Korea.
