Sweden’s gambling authority Lotteriinspektionen, reporting on the market’s second quarter and first half 2016, said growth in the market of 4 percent was outstripped by that of unlicensed operators.
In figures quoted from H2 Gambling Capital and other internal sources, Lotteriinspektionen said growth in unregulated operations within the Swedish market had grown 12 percent over the same period.
The regulator attributes the upward trend in growth for a second consecutive quarter to an increase in internet gaming.
