Finnish national betting agency, Veikkaus, will reportedly begin redundancy negotiations with almost half its workforce following the company’s merger with Fintoto and RAY (see previous reports).
Restructuring talks affect 960 employees, the state-owned gambling agency said, as it seeks to leverage cost efficiencies gained from the merger. Current estimates predict 140 positions in danger of being made redundant and a further twenty affected by a change in job descriptions.
“We are looking to improve our cost-efficiency compared to the three-party entity that used to exist. We’re developing a new integrated business model,” Veikkaus CEO Olli Sarekoski commented.
