Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has announced the launch of VIE.GG, an eSports betting exchange-style wagering platform offering player versus player betting (PVP) in which the house takes “a small percentage of each wager, as opposed to a sports book model that pits the player versus the house.”
The launch of VIE follows months of final financial compliance with applicable regulators, financial institutions and payment processors, the company said, as well as beta testing that provided the Company with valuable feedback from esports enthusiasts around the world.
VIE currently offers wagering on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), Dota 2, Call of Duty, Hearthstone and StarCraft II supported by over sixty affiliate streamers as part of an affiliate programme powered by Income Access.
“Today marks a major milestone for Esports Entertainment Group, our investors and the entire esports industry,” Grant Johnson, CEO of Esports Entertainment Group, said. “With esports experiencing rapid global growth and set to hit mainstream sports in 2018 with the launch of initiatives such as NBA 2K later this year, esports fans have told us loud and clear that they want a licensed, secure and transparent wagering platform to augment their experience.”
Imminent additions to the platform features include onboarding multiple languages such as Spanish and Russian in April and the roll out of further major esports enthusiasts languages soon after.
The company is led by a raft of experienced executives including chief executive officer Grant Johnson who previously served as president of both Halifax International Trading Limited and swiss Medica, prior to which he was president and chief executive officer of Health Net International Inc.
The Esports Entertainment Group is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and its platform is powered by Swiss Interactive Software GmbH.
Swiss Interactive Software’s chief executive officer and founder, Yan Rozum, serves as chief technology officer and a director of EEG.
