One of the highlights of the 2016 ICE show earlier this (February) month was Microgaming‘s very professional Cryolab display, which showcased the company’s extensive R&D push preparing for Virtual Reality technology in the industry.
The hi-tech 3D exhibit was housed in an ultra-futuristic, CRYO lab, constructed specially for the event, and included a literally hands on demo of Microgaming’s award-winning VR Roulette game, which was well used by visitors who queued for the personal VR experience.
Players were virtually transported to a roulette table in outer space, using the Oculus Rift DK 2 headset with Leap Motion 3D Controller to track hand movements and then project them into the 3D world.
So successful was the presentation, and so strong the interest, that Microgaming has now released a video discussing its pioneering initiative on VR and the future of online gaming through advances in virtual reality, augmented reality and wearable tech.
