Webis Holdings PLC’s advanced wagering business, WatchandWager, will be able to accept stakes form New York State following licensing approval by the New York State Gaming Commission.
It’s welcome news for the company who will begin processing registrations, deposits and wagers from residents in time for the 149th thoroughbred horse race, the Belmont Stakes, a highlight on horserace goers calendars.
The license, which is subject to annual renewal, is an important milestone for WatchandWager as it grows its presence in another major US State.
California and New York residents wager an estimated US$1 billion plus per annum through ADW operations and wagers on races conducted in the two key States represent over 40 percent of the total licensed US pool betting market of over 10 billion per annum, Webis Holdings said.
“The Board believes the acquisition of key licenses such as these is critical to the company’s future as it continues to focus on the strategic development of its B2C retail operation via the watchandwager.com/mobile site.”
