Weak third quarter from Fortuna

Core profits at Czech betting company Fortuna Entertainment Group fell sharply in the third quarter, reports the Reuters news agency, mainly due to the costs of starting up a lottery business.

EBITDA dropped to Euro 2.3 million in the period, down 58.4 percent on a year ago, and way below market expectations of Euro 3.8 million.

Gross wins for the company were up 9.2 percent at Euro 23.1 million, above the Euro 22.1 million predicted by analysts.
