William Hill has found itself in the cross hairs again with the UK Advertising Standards Authority.
A TV ad for William Hill, seen on 15 September 2017, was under scrutiny after a complaint that conditions of the promotion applied to horse races, which had at least six runners, was not made sufficiently clear in the ad.
The ASA upheld the complaint saying because the qualification in the small print of the ad contradicted the impression created by the voice-over, it was concluded that the ad was misleading, breached BCAP Code 3.1 and 3.10 and may not appear in its current form again.
The ASA reminded William Hill that the company is required to make significant conditions to offers in their ads clear and to ensure that they do not contradict the claims they qualified.
