Graham Sharpe (67), currently serving as Media Relations Director of William Hill, has reportedly agreed redundancy terms after serving five years shy of half a century with the UK bookmaker.
PR Week report that Sharpe agreed terms after he was informed by the company that he was at risk of redundancy.
“At no time during my employment with the company have I ever expressed a wish to leave,” he said.
Sharpe is the co-founder of the ‘William Hill Sportsbook of the Year’ initiative which will run its 30th edition in November this year. He will reportedly maintain his ties with the competition on a freelance basis for the foreseeable future.
Sharpe is also attributed with being instrumental in William Hill’s introduction of political and novelty betting in 1980.
