New Jersey’s indefatigable champion of i-gaming, Sen. Raymond Lesniak has introduced his much anticipated legislative proposal to create an international pool of online players through agreements with international operators (see previous reports).
The senator launched his bill S3536 at the end of November, calling for the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to be allowed to permit online gaming servers to be located outside of Atlantic City, should this be necessary in order to facilitate international online gambling.
Lesniak says that passage of his proposal will enable New Jersey to put together agreements with global jurisdictions, leading ultimately to compacts with international operators and a bigger, more diverse market.
The DGE appears supportive of the bill, improving its chances of success.
This could well be Senator Lesniak’s crowning achievement, as he retires at the end of his current term after many years and significant contributions to the highly successful introduction of licensed and regulated online gambling in New Jersey.
