The Communications Ministry in Russia has drafted a bill that proposes an amendment to existing gambling advertising legislation that will allow 24-hour advertising.
The proposal has provisions restricting content of such advertisements, which must not attract underage persons to gambling; suggest that gambling can be a source of income; minimise the risks of gambling or hype up the possibility of winning.
The bill covers advertising across all media, but contains provisions prohibiting adverts in railway and airport terminals, subway stations and similar public facilities.
Current restrictions on gambling advertising allow only radio and television advertising betwee 10pm and 7am.
