William Hill has formalised its take over of the Spanish-facing Miapuesta brand through the exercise of a six-month call option it gained through the acquisition of Sportingbet earlier this year .
Miguel Valdes, who heads up William Hill in Spain, described the development as a tremendously positive step towards ensuring a leading position for the firm in the Spanish market.
Sportingbet Plc’s Miapuesta brand formally began trading in the Spanish market in June 2012 after a Commercial Court injunction imposed in March 2012 was lifted following the company’s award of a Spanish e-gaming licence.
