The UK online and land gambling group William Hill plc has agreed a sponsorship deal with online news outlet The Global Herald for sponsorship of its flagship Sports section.
The deal with The Global Herald came into effect on January 10, 2012, and features a wide range of advertising and promotional opportunities, including the placement of William Hill branding within all pages of The Global Herald Sport.
Robin Scott, a director at the parent company behind The Global Herald, 24 Hour Trading Ltd, commented: “We are delighted to welcome William Hill as sponsor of The Global Herald sports section and recognise the commitment of the bookmaker to supporting sport globally, in particular football.
“This deal complements William Hill’s existing sponsorship as ‘Official Betting Partner’ of The FA Cup; a partnership with the Scottish Football Association; and sponsorship of the Scottish Cup.
“As the market grows weary of pay-per-click and impressions advertising, digital brand marketing and sponsorships such as this one are re-emerging as a preferred method of reaching customers, allowing brands to align with appropriate audiences and content.”
