William Hill has launched a new 6000 square foot technology centre in Shoreditch which will initially accommodate forty staff members.

Situated in the midst of Britain’s “technology development” community dubbed the “Silicon Roundabout area”, the centre will focus on developing William Hill’s mobile product and other innovative advances.

“We see this as a hugely significant step in the history of William Hill and, indeed, our industry,” said Andrew Lee, Managing Director, William Hill Online.

“We are the first gaming company to move into Shoreditch, because it is clear the very best talent in Europe is based here — it lives and breathes innovation.

“Mobile technology is moving rapidly — the frequency is quicker, the scope broader — so being in Shoreditch gives us the best possible chance to anticipate and prepare for future developments, by hiring the brightest minds in the country.”

In related news, the company extended its Ayr Gold Cup Festival sponsorship deal retaining the full naming rights to the three-day fixture for another three years.

Jennie Prest, William Hill’s sponsorship and PR manager, commented: “We are delighted to be renewing our sponsorship of the Gold Cup Festival once again, and to be continuing our now long-standing relationship with the team at Ayr Racecourse.  Year-on-year the meeting is popular with both the punters, who love the challenge of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups and the race goers.”
