William Hill shuts down Miapuesta brand

The Spanish online gambling brand Miapuesta.com, acquired during William Hill plc’s GBP 459 million takeover of the Sportingbet.com group, is to be discontinued in order to bring Spanish operations under the William Hill group brand.

The transition to the William Hill brand will be a gradual process, and follows similar moves to consolidate new William Hill acquisitions in Australia under a single strong group brand .

That decision appears to have since been reversed, according to comments attributed to former Sportingbet Australia chief Michael Sullivan, who has remained on board following the William Hill acquisition.
