William Hill will pay out GBP 3.5 million to staff enrolled in its Sharesave scheme.
Onrec.com reports 542 employees will enjoy the windfall following a rise in share price from GBP 1.48 to GBP4.86 during July 2010 to July 2013
The scheme, now it its eleventh year, enables employees to save between GBP 5 and GBP 250 per month for a three or five year period. At the end of the period, staff have the option to buy William Hill shares at a preferential 20 percent discounted price.
Its last GBP 3.5 million payout in 2012 saw 700 staff members enjoy a share.
“It’s great for us to be able to celebrate the success of the company with our teams in this way. It’s through their hard work, commitment and dedication that we are so successful and in two years, over 1200 of our employees have reaped a GBP 7million payout from the scheme,’’ said David Russell, group human resources director at William Hill.
