William Hill strengthens board

Bookmaker William Hill has appointed Georgina Harvey and Imelda Walsh as non-executive Directors effective November 1, 2011.
Georgina Harvey has, since 2005, been Managing Director of the Regionals division of Trinity Mirror plc. Prior she held executive appointments at Express Newspapers plc, IPC Media Ltd and was appointed President of the Newspaper Society in July 2010.
Imelda Walsh was Group Human Resources Director at J Sainsbury plc from 2004 to 2010 and while there was also a non-executive director of Sainsbury’s Bank.  A trustee of Comic Relief and a Board member of the Institute of Employment Studies, Walsh previously held positions at Grand Metropolitan Foods Europe, Coca Cola & Schweppes Beverages and Barclays Bank plc.
Gareth Davis, Chairman of William Hill, commented:  “I am delighted that Imelda and Georgina have agreed to join the William Hill Board. They bring us extensive and diverse experience from the worlds of media and retail. They will provide useful insights into the kinds of technology, regulatory and people issues being faced by William Hill as we look to develop further as an innovative, international and multi-channel gambling business.”
