Officials from Wimbledon, the world’s oldest tennis tournament, have been given a watch-list of “undesirables” suspected of betting corruption reports UK newspaper The Sunday Telegraph.
The blacklist has been compiled by the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU), an investigations team run by a former Scotland Yard detective, and is said to include suspected individuals linked through betting irregularities on other matches as well as those linked via a match-fixing investigation into tennis professional Daniel Koellerer. Koellerer has been given a life ban.
Tournament officials are expected to restrict access to players’ changing rooms, eating area’s and practice courts.
