WMS Industries Inc. presented strong interactive results in its first quarterly report of 2013.
Group results were, however, impacted by a significant increase in marketing spend to support the growth of interactive along with the launch of the firm’s Blade and Gamefiled xD gaming cabinets to the terrestrial casino floor.
Key performance highlights include:
– Revenue of $177.9 million (Q1/2012: $176 million), up 1.1 percent
– Net Income of $7.5 million (Q1/2012: $22.1 million)
– Interactive products and services revenues of $17.1 million (Q1/2012: $1 million)
Brian R. Gamache, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer commenting on the results said: “Strong player and customer interest in recently launched gaming machines and the growing availability and rising popularity of our interactive products and services are establishing a platform for long-term success that we are supporting through stepped-up investments in new product development and in marketing efforts aimed at expanding the distribution and availability of our interactive products, services and game content.”
