Having developed a social player base of 200 000 people through Facebook and Twitter, the internet social gaming network Yazino.com has launched into the wider market as a stand-alone internet casino site, offering play-for-fun games of blackjack, roulette, Texas Hold’em and slots.
A company statement advises that management has plans to launch in play-for-money mode within the next 12 months.
Chief executive Hussein Chahine, says the goal is to bridge the gap between traditional online gambling and social gaming sites, creating a market differentiation that will favour Yazino.
Yazino was conceived in 2008 by three friends who wanted to reinvent the social gaming and online casino worlds by connecting the two. Since then it claims to have created a new hybrid category of gaming that blends massively multiplayer online casino (MMOC) with player choice of games and opponents. The site includes typically social networking elements such as a community forum, education, Facebook and Twitter connectivity and tournaments.
Headquartered in the UK, with offices in Dublin Ireland, Yazino is a privately held company that currently employs some 40 people. The operations director, Mark Munsone, has extensive experience of the online environment, particularly payment systems, and was at one time employed by Ladbrokes eGaming.
Interestingly, the company filed a US trademark in August this year, naming a company called Break My Casino Limited of Alderney in the Channel Islands as the owner.
