UK-based social gaming start-up Yazino’s vision is “in-sync gaming”, where players compete and interact in real-time using the internet, Android and iOS devices, giving them the edge in an already crowded social “free-to-play” gaming market that functions mainly through social network Facebook, reports AOLgames.com.
Yazino has developed seven classic casino games accessible via Facebook but that are hosted on Yazino’s own website allowing players to create their own personal communities as sub-groups within the larger player base using their Facebook friend lists.
According to chief executive officer Hussein Chahine, Facebook can’t handle synchronous, multiplatform gaming at present.
Chahine believes that the social gaming scene would look very different had online gambling not been banned from Facebook; that online gambling would have dominated the social gaming market leaving little or no scope for start-up companies to thrive; and successes such as Zynga Poker would not exist had PokerStars and the other big sites been able to compete in a virtual free-to-play capacity.
Yazino’s chief says the company isn’t interested in real money gambling but wants to “reinvent gambling in a much more sophisticated way.”
