The UK-based eSports tournament platform and creator of the eSports Championship Series (ECS), Faceit has confirmed that it has inked a multi-year deal with Youtube for the live streaming of ECS contests, now entering a third season.
It appears that Faceit’s two-season ECS streaming romance with Twitch has been abandoned in favour of the Youtube deal.
Faceit is well-funded and boasts over 3.5 million registered viewers; the third season of ECS, which focuses mainly on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive contests, kicks off on March 25.
The eSports phenomenon continues to grow, with recent studies confirming that the sector generated $500 million in revenues last year and is forecast to hit twice that by the end of 2018, thanks to younger demographic audiences that run to nine figures.
